If you're an intermediate or advanced rider who spends most of your winter in the park and pipe, the skate-inspired Burton Freestyle offers excellent features with a little less stiffness than the Burton Moto and Hail. This season Burton refined the entire design by adding the proven and popular 2:1 Power Lacing System, a lighter outsole and a new heat-moldable Imprint 2 liner. The Imprint 2 liner has Power Panel 1.0 technology and a quick-fit lacing harness that you can tweak to refine the fit and support. Power Panels contain memory foam materials that snap back to their original positions far better than the traditional boot materials that typically "pack in" after a season of hard use. Down below everything is a new lighter outsole with rubber ice spikes for improved grip. This design replaces last years' three-part outsole that had a nice low profile, but didn't give big-air fans a lot of cushion if they were coming down on hardpack. Despite the extra EVA for padding, the Freestyle feels exceptionally light. This is a great flexible boot outfitted with all the pipe, park and ollie features you need and none of the expensive extras.

Take on all sides of the mountain with the improved comfort elements in Burton's Women's Emerald snowboard boot. The Emerald is an excellent multi-purpose boot with just enough stiffness to suit intermediates and advanced riders without taking anything away from aggressive new riders who want the right gear the first time. This season Burton enhanced the fit with a new Imprint 2 Liner with True Fit construction and Power Panel 1.0 technology, Hot Pockets and Outlast® Adaptive Comfort. The Power Panels inside the new liner contain memory foam materials that snap back to their original positions far better than the traditional boot materials that typically "pack in" after a season of hard use. That Outlast® technology in the liner is a thermal phase-changing material that helps absorb excess heat while you're hiking up backcountry ridges and releases the thermal warmth as your feet chill during long rides down the fall line. The result is a more consistent insulation performance that you can count on throughout the day. Burton's True Fit construction is a female-specific design element that's found on all of their snowboard boots this season. Every part of the Imprint liner, shell, cuff, heel counter, tongue and even the lace guides are specifically designed to fit female feet. There are no unisex shortcuts on Burton women's snowboard boots. Ever. Other nice touches include Hot Pockets (neoprene sleeves for disposable chemical warmer pouches) and Burton's Speed Zone Lacing System. The Emerald's Speed Zone Lacing System allows you to cinch up the snowboard boot over certain areas where you need added support or a little more flex. This is done by pulling a Lower Zone lace handle until the boot is tight over the ankle area, then adjusting the Upper Zone lace handle until the cuff region feels right. When you're ready to go, tuck the handles into their neatly concealed pockets outside the liner and get into your bindings. Burton's Speed Zone lacing guides also micro adjust so you have even lace tension where you need it, potentially reducing foot fatigue and eliminating those painful pressure points found on other women's snowboard boots. It's a great size adjustment feature for women who prefer to make the most of every trip to the mountain.

The mellow and progressive flex of the articulated cuff gives Burton's Women's Sapphire owners the distinct ability to keep their heels locked down on their advanced freestyle and all-mountain snowboards. The Sapphire offers a two-part flexing design between the upper and lower sections, so female riders enjoy a smooth flex that's also surprisingly responsive, making this boot an excellent pairing for freestyle and all-mountain snowboards. Granted, this progressive flex characteristic might not be the best thing for new riders, but it's a great snowboard boot for experienced riders who need performance with plenty of comfort features. This season Burton enhanced the Sapphire fit with a new Imprint 3 Liner with True Fit construction. The new Imprint 3 Liner offers Power Panel 2.0 technology and has customizable refinements like the J-Bar adjustable heel hold system and the Outlast Adaptive Comfort technology. The Power Panels inside the new liner contain memory foam materials that snap back to their original positions far better than the traditional boot materials that typically "pack in" after a season of hard use. That Outlast technology in the liner is a thermal phase-changing material that helps absorb excess heat while you're hiking up backcountry ridges and releases the thermal warmth as your feet chill during long rides down the fall line. Ever. The Sapphire has a distinct outsole shape that can result in less drag along the heel and toe even when you're riding on a board that's possibly a size too small (results may vary, so pay attention to the sizing chart). One thing to keep in mind is that the Sapphire is the only upper-end Burton women's boot that doesn't feature a Speed Zone Lacing System. If this is an important feature, consider the similar support and flex found in the Burton women's Supreme Heat, Q or Emerald snowboarding boots.

Ideal for female riders of all abilities, the Burton Women's Mint snowboard boot emphasizes all-mountain performance at an exceptional price. It features Burton's Speed Zone™ Lacing System, so you can cinch up your Mint snowboard boot over certain areas where you need added support or a little more flex. This is done by pulling a Lower Zone lace handle until the boot is tight over the ankle area, then adjusting the Upper Zone lace handle until the cuff region feels right. When you're ready to go, tuck the handles into their respective pockets outside the liner and get into your bindings. Burton's Speed Zone lacing guides also micro adjust so you have even lace tension where you need it, potentially reducing foot fatigue and eliminating painful pressure points. The Mint also has a heat-moldable Imprint 1 Liner with polyurethane energy panels that conform to the shape of your foot without creating extra pressure. The thermo-engineered heel cup in a narrower pocket optimizes the heel hold so it doesn't go away after a 100+ day season. Aside from cosmetic stuff, much of this Mint remains the same as last year (including the great price) but keep in mind that Burton kept the modified exterior outsole shape, creating less drag along the heel and toe even when you're riding on a board that's possibly a size too small (results may vary, so pay attention to the sizing chart). If you're looking for value that doesn't cut corners on the best fit features, the Burton Mint is a big step in a cost-effective direction.

Created as a comfortable and supportive snowboard boot that inspires confidence, the Burton Women's Casa snowboard boot is an affordable platform for new riders. Unlike a lot of boots that tend to be soft on adult beginners, the Casa offers a moderate amount of support that's just a notch more flexible than Burton's recreational Mint Snowboard boot. The Casa features Burton's new True Fit measuring, a female-specific foot measuring program that created a whole new series of Burton shell and liner lasts specifically designed for women, enhancing fit, heel hold, circulation and insulating warmth. The Casa has a thermo-engineered heel cup in a narrower pocket that optimizes the heel hold so it doesn't go away after a 100+ day season. Aside from cosmetic stuff, much of the Casa remains the same as last year (including the great price) but keep in mind that Burton kept the modified exterior outsole shape, creating less drag along the heel and toe even when you're riding on a board that's possibly a size too small (results may vary, so pay attention to the sizing chart). If you're looking for value in a snowboard boot that has fit features that won't distract from the learning experience, the Burton Women's Casa is an easy and comfortable choice.

Stop prying your feet into those guy's performance snowboard boots. In season's past expert women looking for a stiff boot usually found that the stiffest stuff came from the men's side of the boot aisle. That's not the case with the new Burton Q. Where other Burton women's boots top on the 1 to 10 stiffness scale at a solid "six" the Q hits an uber-dense "eight." Just keep in mind that stiff boots don't have to be uncomfortable boots--the Q was made to fit and support female feet better than most of the designs out there. It offers almost all the same fit features (and an identical lining) found on the top-of-the-line Supreme, but it's more supportive for hardcore riders. This season Burton enhanced the Q's fit with a new Imprint 3 Liner with True Fit construction. Every part of the Imprint liner, shell, cuff, heel counter, tongue and even the lace guides are specifically designed to fit female feet. There are no unisex shortcuts on Burton women's snowboard boots. Ever. Another new refinement is a lighter EVA outsole made with internal B3 Gel cushioning, so while the Q offers just the right amount of firm support around the upper and cuff, there's still plenty of cushion when you come down hard after a big jump.
