Metolius calls their Curve Nut™ "the backbone of any gear climber's rack"; a worthy accolade when you consider the multitude of placement advantages over old style nuts. By modifying the standard wedge design Metolius set up a natural triangulation (three points of contact with the rock) between the Curve Nut™ and virtually any crack.Each Metolius Curve Nut™ has a side that uses a constant angle taper, which helps you visually determine solid placement. The horizontal curves across the two faces of the piece allow the nut to naturally accommodate the inward or outward flare commonly encountered in most cracks.

Classic, simple, lightweight, functional pro, Hexes shine in rapidly-widening cracks where cams might walk out. With a subtly asymmetrical cross-section, flat sides and slight end-wise taper, they offer three different widths when turned on their axes and another when placed end-wise. Easy to rack and place in bottlenecks, Hexes come equipped with durable, galvanized steel cables. Anodized Wired Hexes are also sold in a convenient set, which includes #4 to #10 with an OvalWire biner.
