Water Sports, Sun, and a Different Culture Is Key West, Florida

If you want to travel to some spot with fascinating culture, warm weather and beaches, and are set for an “away from everything” location, think Key West, Florida. Even though boat fishing is something that I really like, I still prefer fishing from shore. Why that is, I can’t specifically say, but I mainly think it’s more challenging to haul a hard-fighting fish out of the surf than to land it in a boat. That being said, like all anglers, I like to have the right fishing tackle with me every time I want to go and try to stalk the creatures of the sea. The substantial collection of fishing gear I have acquired over the years is due to this reason. My Grey’s Nitra shore rod is something that I always find myself using. The reasons are provided below.

Wychwood Riot Big Pit Reel Fishing Tackle Review

Anglers who have a strong passion for what they usually find themselves spending lots of their time looking at catalogues or scouring the Internet for fishing tackle deals and bargains. I’m always on the lookout for a prime piece of gear to add to my already extensive collection. Though it’s not a big issue for me to spend money on a quality reel, I also know that I can find quality yet affordable tackles which will not left me broke for future purchases. Daiwa, Greys, and Wychwood are some brands that I stick with. In the spirit of an angler which shares the same passions as mine, I offer here a short review of the Wychwood Riot Big Pit Reel.

The Important Features of the Wychwood Riot Big Pit Reel

This affordable reel sells for just under 50.0 British Pounds and it offers most of the features you’d either expect or need. It features an attractive looking machine cut aluminium spool that is very durable. It has a graphite made rotor and body which I really like. I prefer this material because it is lightweight, durable, and mouldable. Moreover, since it has high tensile strength, this material is resistant to breakage even when significant force is applied to it. This is one quality that I think highly contributes to this rod’s superior casting performance and balance. The result of this is that I get more enjoyment when angling for a fish!

More About the Wychwood Riot Big Pit Reel Fishing Tackle

One thing that I immediately noticed is the superior line lay of this rod which I attribute to its unique and innovative design. Also, line leaves the spool in much tighter loops than I’ve seen on other reels in this class. The rod I am using has a 40mm butt and a 12mm tip ring and the mentioned feature improves the flow of the line through the rings of the rod. The tigher line loops created by this model decreases the possibility of the line wrapping around the butt ring, a dilemma which I sometimes experience with thicker lines when I power cast. I also like the micro-pitch front drag system. Why is this a big deal to me? Well, it allows me to go from almost free-running to completely locked down in the minimum number of turns, without affecting the smoothness of the drag.

Havining All The Fun At A Dude Ranch

If a great one-of-a-kind vacation with family or friends is on your checklist, then the great outdoors of a dude ranch is the perfect place for you. A vacation is not fun until you have done something you’ve never tried before. If a dude ranch is still unclear to you, picture this: beautiful landscapes, range horseback riding, cattle roping, sleeping rough, and Wild Wild West among others. It is definitely unlike your life in the city.

If you want to experience the typical dude ranch feel, you can go to states such as Arizona, Colorado, and Montana. There are some who retains the simple life and classic ranch style and some aims to make it more appealing to everyone by creating a “ranch resort” with pools, hot tubs, spa services, and golf. The traditional warmth and home-cooked meals will always be present despite the luxury and comfort that these modern-day dude ranches bring.

“Sleeping rough” should not be taken in its literal sense. You can sleep in rustic cabins, main ranch houses, and resort-style lodges. Want to feel a rough bed? You can start the day by riding horseback then end it by sleeping outdoors. You can keep yourself warm by staying by the fireplace inside the cabins. You may also cook in a vast space alfresco. Another activity to look forward to is learning country western songs and family dances. You can also choose to enjoy activities such as fishing, hiking, hay riding, and white water rafting. Tennis, volleyball, and mountain biking are also fun sports that you can enjoy aside from the usual roping and trick horseback riding. And of course, work and play with the livestock; you could help out in a working cattle ranch.

Be a real cowboy for a day. Buy yourself a pair of cowboy boots or broken in boots. Bring a brimmed hat with straps. If you can, bring all your pairs of jeans and long-sleeve shirts. A simple scarf or bandanna will come a long way when you wear it outdoors. Don’t forget your leather gloves to protect your hands from the rough reins as a horseback rider.

A dude ranch is open year-round. Book your trip as their primetime normally depends on the climate. Most dude ranches promote agro-tourism; it was intentionally created for guests who are not familiar with everything West, also known as “dudes”. And that is where dude ranch got its name from. Bring out that cowboy in you. Yee-ha!
