I’d never been to New York before and when my buddies and I chose to ultimately make plans to go I was so thrilled. Little did I realize or think about the trip obviously enough to grasp it would come with its challenges. Well, I knew there are challenges in any large city but making an attempt to sleep was one I didn’t think about ahead of time. Fortunately my pal had a CD hypnosis for sleep which basically helped. And when I did get sufficient rest the days and nights were just wonderful.
It is one thing to see photographs, videos and even television shows about New York city but its quite another thing when you get there and experience it all in the flesh. When they are saying it is the city that never sleeps, they are not fooling. Regardless of what time of day or night there had been always something going on, something that should be found and something cool and exciting to do. Whether it was food and new things to eat, music and entertainment on some level or meeting folks starting from fascinating to quite strange, there had been always some move to make and see.
What I liked the most was the variety. Regardless of when I have traveled formerly and of all the places Ive been, New York offers such a wide selection of nearly all things. But at first I will admit it looked a bit overpowering and even threatening at times . After a day or 2 I settled in and got more into the vibe of the city and the people there. But what a busy pace it is if you aren’t aware enough to go at your own pace and allow yourself to get caught up in the local pace that is set. I believe the thing that you can be in an enormous, massive city and all it has to offer but then be in Central Park as if you have left the city and went to another place.
When we went to the park we saw families, couples walking together as though there was not any one else around, some seedy characters for sure and folk from regular looking people to big business and affluent types. What a mixture it was and I can only imagine its like this nowhere else. Where else are you able to see such an incredible variety and mixture of folks all in the same place passing one another each day? Even as I sit and imagine it I cant think of another place so various.
All in all I liked my first trip to New York city and I know Ill go back. The next time Ill be sure to do a little research and look round at my options and be better prepared. And if there is any guidance I can give somebody who is going for the first time, prepare. Check online for all the options available, how much space between the places, stops on the way and to not try and do it all. Its most unlikely to see and do everything it has got to offer and boy is there a lot . I’m already looking forward to my next trip there.
